Privacy policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
Draft for legal review. This placeholder describes how the site works today. Have it reviewed (Quebec’s Law 25 and Canada’s PIPEDA both apply) and fill in everything in [brackets] before launch.
Who we are
Dubl (“we”) is a video dubbing and localization studio. [Legal business name and address.] The person in charge of protecting personal information is [name, title], reachable at [privacy@dubl.ca].
What we collect
- When you contact us through the “Let’s talk” form: your name, email address, business or channel name, and whatever you choose to tell us about your project.
- When you subscribe: payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email, billing address and the plan you chose. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you send us videos: the videos and any files you share, which may include your voice and image, and those of other people.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. We also count visits, as described under Cookies below.
Why we use it
To answer your questions, provide the service you pay for, bill you, and meet our legal obligations. We don’t sell personal information. We don’t use your videos or your voice for anything other than producing your versions.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the business: Stripe (payments), Netlify (website hosting), Formspree (delivers the contact form to us by email), Cloudflare (our domain, email forwarding and visit counts), Google (email, and Google Analytics if you accept analytics cookies), [file transfer and storage]. Some of them store data outside Quebec and Canada, including in the United States. [List and assess each provider before launch.]
Cookies
- Visit counts without cookies: we count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t follow you to other sites and doesn’t build a profile of you. It tells us which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from.
- Analytics cookies, only if you say yes: if you choose “Accept” on the cookie notice, we also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies, to see which pages are useful and how people find us. Google’s advertising features are turned off. If you choose “No thanks”, or don’t choose, Google Analytics doesn’t load. You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie settings” at the foot of every page.
- Stored in your browser only: your cookie choice, and whether you closed the language suggestion bar. Neither is sent to us.
How long we keep it
Inquiries: [24 months] after our last exchange. Client files: [90 days] after delivery, unless you ask us to keep them longer. Billing records: as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted once we no longer need it, and you can withdraw your consent. Write to [privacy@dubl.ca]. You can also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
